Punk Avenue: Inside the New York City Underground, 1972-1982 by Phil Marcade
I finished reading Punk Avenue this week, and absolutely loved it. I didn't know who Phil Marcade was, but a friend recommended it and it was such a fun read. Marcade was in the band The Senders, and friends with anyone who was anyone, right smack (pun intended) dab in the middle of the 70s NYC Punk Scene, with laugh out loud stories about himself and everyone else, that I never read in any other books chronicling that time and scene. His vivid descriptions drew the reader right into things with him. If you are interested, do yourself a favor and get it. You will not be disappointed. Purchase it here.
